A former chairman of the Oyo State chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, Alhaji Mukaila Lamidi has finally met the outgoing national president of the union, Alhaji Najeem Yasin.
Auxilliary, as Lamidi is fondly called, is rumored to be favored to return as chairman of the state chapter of the union.
OYO INSIGHT recalls how Governor Seyi Makinde proscribed the activities of the union following alleged forceful takeover of garages from loyalists of Alhaji Abideen Olajide Ejiogbe, who was in office.
Only last week, Auxilliary was absent from a meeting convened to broker peace between him and Ejiogbe.
Though details of the outcome of the meeting were still sketchy as at press time, sources close to the leadership of the union said Yasin is committed to do whatever each state governor wants as regards the leadership of NURTW in their respective state.
