He said the state was in urgent need of people-focused and result-oriented leadership.

Speaking in an interview with SUNDAY PUNCH, Lanlehin said, “Without argument, we are in difficult times in this state. The resources are lean, the problems are many and our people are suffering.

“I am confident in my ability to make the state better than the current situation. I possess the managerial ability to make the best of the very bad situations that we find ourselves today in Oyo.

“I don’t want to denigrate anybody, but what has the government that has been there for eight years done? What is its legacy? Is it in education where we are now 26th position out of 36 states in WAEC and 28th position in NECO? Is it immunisation? Is it business? Name it! Go everywhere now, you will see people who are hungry and very angry. The situation is very tense. So, we must be able to do something that will relieve our people of their very terrible position.”

On his manifestoes for the people, Lanlehin promised to utilise the state’s lean resources to better the lots of the people.
