Emmanuel Oyetayo Oyewole has been expelled long before now from the African Democratic Congress, ADC, and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has been notified in order to replace him, the party has said.

The party, in a statement Friday night by its spokesperson, Bimpe Adelowo, said the Igboho-born evangelist had been expelled alongside Monsurat Sunmonu and others who recently defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, officially.

ADC, reacting to Oyewole’s defection to the PDP yesterday said “It’s laughable. That he decided to make his defection known through a news conference and not with Sen. Monsurat Sunmonu and others tells one thing— they don’t trust one another. And that is what those of us who love ADC  saw before making that bold move of expelling all of them.

“Long after we detected his game plan, we had shortlisted another deputy governorship candidate. In fact, we have notified INEC about the development and in few weeks time, his name will be substituted.

“He should tell the whole world who bankrolled the press conference he did yesterday. Why is it that he is now knowing that Governor Seyi Makinde has fulfilled our promises made with coalition parties? The next few months will reveal a lot of things.

“Like we said in the statement announcing their expulsion, Dr. Ganiyu Dele Ajadi, is our candidate for the 2023 governorship election. We have candidates for the senatorial, house of representatives and assembly seats. We are grateful to God that peace has finally returned to our party. We will not miss any of them. We are are heaving sigh of relief already,” the statement added.
