A frontline governorship aspirant, Engineer Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe campaigns received a boost last Tuesday in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, as major party stakeholders and members declared support for him.
In a meeting held at Premier Hotel, Ibadan, which was attended by notable politicians across the state, a unanimous vote of confidence was passed on Tegbe, who they described as “the trump card”
A statement signed by Comrade Tunji Adewale, on behalf of other stakeholders, stated that “it’s heart warming that wherever the campaign train of Tegbe berths in Oyo state, the reception is always phenomenal. This has further reinforced the people’s unwavering faith in Governor Abiola Ajimobi who has saved the leadership of APC from the web of choosing a lesser of two evils or remain neutral.
Adewale added that “When you have a cerebral man who controls his thinking the way Engineer Tegbe does, it’s needless to worry about his action. One should only give him massive support to communicate his knowledge to the benefit of the people of Oyo State.”
Lending credence to the growing popularity and winding support given to Tegbe, Chief Amos Akinfenwa, in a separate interview, tasked all APC leaders who are genuinely craving for a best successor to carry on the good legacies set by Ajimobi to rally support behind him.
According to him, “it’s only from a perfect knowledge which Engineer Tegbe embodies that a perfect action surfaces. Anybody in direct contact with him will marvel at his expansive knowledge in addressing issue which some of us consider intractable.”
Speaking further, Akinfenwa confessed that even though some APC leaders have been “manifestly throwing their weights behind one aspirant or the other, with the entry of Engr Joseph Tegbe into the race, the story has changed as we have all agreed that with his wealth of job experience, his towering educational background, native intelligence, humility and the nous to solving problems with acuity, no need to look else where . It’s now glaring to all discerning minds that when there is smoke, there must be some fire somewhere, even if for some reason, the fire is concealed from the public for some time,” he said.
