The Senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District, Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, has donated a brand-new Toyota Camry to Mrs. Rachael Folake Alamu, the Principal of Community High School, Esiele, Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, in recognition of her resilience and courage during her recent ordeal in the hands of kidnappers.
Mrs. Alamu was among the teachers abducted alongside pupils during the attack on Community High School, Esiele, and Yawota Baptist Nursery and Primary School in May. Throughout the period of captivity, she was reportedly compelled by the kidnappers to appear in several videos used to communicate with the outside world.
Presenting the vehicle, Senator Alli commended the principal for her strength, composure, and commitment to the welfare of the abducted pupils despite the traumatic experience.
The lawmaker described the donation as a token of appreciation for her courage and a demonstration of solidarity with victims of insecurity, expressing hope that the gesture would help ease her recovery process.
The donation has been widely applauded by residents and stakeholders in Oriire Local Government, who described it as a compassionate intervention and a recognition of the sacrifices made by educators in difficult circumstances.
The abducted pupils and teachers regained their freedom after spending several weeks in captivity, bringing relief to their families, the Oriire community, and Oyo State at large.
