A former chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Babatunde Idris Lapade (Lapido) says only a competent and experienced candidate who has a history of performance in government can face other parties in the coming by elections to the house of representatives in Ibadan North federal constituency.
Lapido, who made this known in a chat with OYOINSIGHT.COM, believes he is the most qualified aspirant with all these attributes.
Revealing that he has hinted the leadership of his bid to represent the people, he said the candidate his party will present must be competent and popular not only within the party but throughout the federal constituency.
He explained that many projects, like roads, bridges, classrooms, hospitals, transformers, boreholes, skill acquisition centre, youth empowerment, environmental sanitation, traditional council building, distribution of exercise books annually etc, that were delivered during his tenure as council chairman, are still visible and still in the memories of Ibadan North residents.
”It will all be showcased before and during the campaigns,” he said, urging the party leaders and members of APC in Ibadan North LG to avoid sentiment and choose the best candidate who has been tested and can be trusted to deliver for the by-election.
