Akinwale Akinwole, chairman of Ogbomoso United Football Club has described the remodelling of Lekan Salami sports complex by ‘Seyi Makinde, governor of Oyo State, as one of the monumental achievements that will enhance talent discovery and development.
The stadium, OYOINSIGHT.COM, is billed for commissioning on September 1, 2021.
Popularly known as Wolekanle, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chieftain said that apart from generating revenue for the state, the complex will also create an avenue for skilful players, athletes and others in activities in sport to showcase their talents
He added that the upgrading of stadia in Oyo, Ogbomoso, Ibadan, Saki, and other towns in the state are pointers to the facts that Makinde is determined to revived promote and engaged youths through sports development
Speaking with journalists in Ibadan, on Monday, the football enthusiast commended Makinde for his genuine passion for the development of the state which he said he has demonstrated through his achievements in all sectors in the last two years
He maintained that the unprecedented record of achievements by Governor Makinde is not only attacting more people to the party but also positioning him and the party for a better chances of winning subsequent elections in the state
“The people of Oyo state are conscious of the fact that Governor Makinde is doing well in terms of good governance and we will all support him for a second term to consolidate on the foundation he has laid for the state and I am sure by the time he completes his eight years in office as governor, the state would have been far far better than he met it.”
