Speaking on national issue, the oil magnate noted that there can only be progress and development in Nigeria when Nigerians learn to live together in peace and harmony.

He added: “We should not allow ourselves to be divided along ethnic and religious lines. All what we want is the progress of our society. So, let’s continue to live together in peace and harmony.”

Speaking earlier, an Ilorin-born preacher, Sheik Suleiman Faruok Onikijipa, asked  Nigerian politicians to eschew violence and  shedding of innocent blood before, during and after the 2019 general elections.

At the event attended by the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji; former Governor Rashidi Ladoja of Oyo state; the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta states, Alhaji Dauda Makanjuola Akinola; Chairman of PDP in Oyo state, Alhaji Kunmi Mustspha; Senator Hosea Ayoola Agboola and many others, the cleric, in his lecture titled “Why are we on earth?”, pointed out that God purposely created humans to serve Him and humanity, hence the need for the politicians to always see their venturing into politics as call to serve the people.

According to him, the time has come for Nigerian politicians not to be too desperate for political power, but to fear God in everything they do by stay  away from political killings, as the 2019 general elections are fast approaching.
