Oyo State Governor-elect, Engr Seyi Makinde, has described his emergence at the just concluded governorship election as a miracle.
Makinde spoke at a thanksgiving service held in his honour at the Sword of the Spirit Ministry at The Precious Cornerstone University, Ibadan Campus 1, Garden of Victory, Old Ife Road, Ibadan, today.
Saying that his victory was a manifestation of the people’s trust and love for God, he promised to lead a purposeful government in the state.
This is just as he added that he was indebted to the people of the state because he had found all that he wanted through their votes.
Earlier, Bishop Dapo Asaju, the Vice Chancellor of Ajayi Crowther University in his sermon and Bible reading by the chairman Christian Association of Nigeria, Oyo State branch Pastor Akanmu urged Makinde to make thanksgiving his lifestyle in order to experience the blessings of God on a daily basis.
“When you acknowledge the blessings of God, he will be committed to preserving all that he has done for you,” Asaju said.
He charged Makinde and other newly elected public officers to humble themselves, advising him not to disappoint the people who elected them into the positions of authority, saying that people may have to revolt when their expectations are not met.
The Bishop advised that the incoming administration should promote people-oriented programmes to improve the welfare of the residents, saying that they should not be discriminatory in spreading development.
