Shina Peller Rejoices With Christians, Urges Them To Embrace Peace
A House of Representatives member-elect for Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa federal constituency, Hon. Shina Abiola Peller, rejoices with all Nigerians as Christians all over the world celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
“Indeed, Easter celebration presents us the opportunity to reflect deeply on the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ with a view to learning from his virtues, humility, total submission to the will of God, courageous and uncommon sacrificial acts to humanity.
“As we celebrate Easter, we should endeavour to be true followers of Jesus Christ by adhering to his teachings; it is not enough for us to celebrate his resurrection on a yearly basis only, we should emulate all the good things that he stood for.
“Throughout his lifetime, Jesus Christ preached peace, love, humility, forgiveness, tolerance, endurance, and he was a replica of all that is good. Truly, his acts are worth emulating for our society to thrive appropriately. We should choose peace over violence, and love over hatred.
“Importantly, as we wine and dine in celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, we should remember the less-privileged in our midst and reach out to them in whatever way we deem fit, bearing in mind that every good deed will be rewarded no matter how long it takes. Recall that Jesus Christ enjoined us all to give alms to the needy.
“Once again, Hon. Shina Abiola Peller wishes all Christians both in Nigeria and abroad a Happy Easter.”
