An Ibadan based legal practitioner, Bolaji Agoro, has filed a suit to recover his professional fees from a lawmaker representing Ibarapa East/Ido federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Sunday Adepoju, at the Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan.

OYO INSIGHT recalls that Omoyin, as Adepoju is known, recently defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, to the African Democratic Congress, ADC, on whose he is seeking a third term.

According to the suit filed on 27th November, 2018, the claimant is praying the court for the payment of the sum of N19,500,000:00 (Nineteen Million Five Hundred Thousand Naira) only being his unpaid professional fees for legal services rendered to the Defendant in suit No. EPT/IB/NA/HR/2015 wherein judgment was delivered on 10th August, 2015 and Appeal No. CA/EPT/IB/8/2015 wherein judgment was delivered on 8th October, 2015.

By the claim filed by the claimant’s counsel, the claimant is also praying the court to award 10 per cent interest on the judgment debt until final liquidation by the defendant.

The lawyer contended that the lawmaker has been avoiding him and refused to pay his fees after series of demand notices as well as bill of charges duly served on the Honourable.

The case has been adjourned till March 3rd, 2019.
