Members of the breakaway faction of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Oyo State, Unity Forum, have adopted Sen. Monsurat Sunmonu as its leader.
This is just as the group, at a meeting held today In Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, congratulated the governor-elect, Engr Seyi Makinde over his victory at the March 9, 2019 governorship election.
The group, in a communique issued at the end of the meeting and signed by Dr Wasiu Olatubosun, said it remains part of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, adding that “the group strongly believes in the leadership quality of Sen. Olufemi Lanlehin as the state leader of the ADC.”
”The fellowship has no regret for being a promoter of a coalition onslaught which ousted the APC as a ruling party in the state.
”No member of the group is authorized to hold any meeting or negotiation on its behalf with any political party as regards its future electoral adventures in the state without the express authority from its leaders,” it added.
Congratulating Makinde, “the group pledged its readiness to collaborate with him in every strata of governance in beelttering the lots of the hapless populace who had been subjected to undue socio-economic hardship and agony by the outgoing administration marshal led by Governor Abiola Ajimobi.”
At the meeting were Sunmonu, Barr AbdulWasi Musah, Hon. Bolaji Badmus, Hon. Fatai Salam, Alhaji Mukaila Kakaki and host of others.
