Against the order given by the outgoing national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun during his inauguration as chairman of the party in Oyo State,on Monday, Chief Akin Oke, today inaugurated members of the executives of the party.
At the event which held at the Oke-Ado, Ibadan party secretariat of the party, were policemen, who were stationed to prevent violence.
Owing to crisis, which has divided the party along SENACO/Unity Forum factions, the party had ordered Oke to wait till harmonisation and reconciliation are done.
Insight Oyo reported how national assembly members as well as the minister from the state were manhandled and teargassed at the party national secretariat where they had gone to protest the inauguration of Oke.
The lawmakers and the minister had, after learning of the development, went to the party secretariat to express their displeasure. They were shocked because they were expecting the Sen. Lawan Shuaibu harmonisation team when they got to know of Oke’s planned inauguration.
It was learnt that the inauguration of local and ward executives will follow any moment from now.
