For the people of Iwo-Ate and Awe, two sleepy communities under Ogo-Oluwa and AFIJIO local government areas of Oyo State, it is a new dawn as the federal government has approved the construction of road linking the towns to others.
For many decades, the people of the ancient towns and specifically commuters moving from Oyo, Ogbomoso in Oyo State and Iwo, Ife Odan and Ejigbo have have endured hardship connecting the towns and other adjoining others easily.
The contract for the construction of the 20.3 kilometers road, which is the first phase, and which has been awarded to Messrs CBC Global Civil & Building Construction Nigeria Limited, is expected to be completed within 24 months.
It would be recalled that the announcement of the construction of the road has thrown indigenes, residents and those who have anything to do with the areas into wild jubilation.
