Hoodlums from yet to be identified locations in Ibadan, the state capital, in the early hours of Sunday, set over 20 houses on fire in what was described as a clash between two rival gangs in Idi Arere area of the city.
Parts of affects structures include fashion designers’ shops, soft drinks sellers’ shop, houses, electronics shops, frozen foods’ shop, cooking materials sellers’ shops, clothing retailers’ shop among others.
Tribune Online investigation revealed that Sunday’s attack was a fall out of several clashes between the rival groups.
It was also gathered that the loss could have been worse if not for stiff resistance from some local vigilance groups and other tough residents from the areas.
