A former governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr. Yunus Akintunde, has urged Governor Seyi Makinde to immortalize late Kehinde Ayoola.
Late Ayoola, who is from Oyo like Akintunde, died yesterday, after a brief illness.
The former speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly was, until his death the commissioner for environment and natural habitat.
Akintunde, in a condolence message, said he was pained by the passage of Ayoola, adding that he was a politician of note.
“Though everybody will die, I have not come to terms with his death. He was speaker when I was full-time commissioner in the Oyo State Civil Service Commission during the era of late former governor Lamidi Adesina. He was then representing my state constituency.
“Whatever he did, he was committed to it. He was one of the staunchest promoters of the Omi Titun brand which produced Engr. Seyi Makinde as governor. His love for our hometown, Oyo, was not in doubt. He was a leading member of the environmental society in the state. His contributions to anything he believed were profound.
“While we pray for the repose of his soul, I will like to urge the state government to immortalize him. His family needs to be supported with everything at this point in time,” the former works commissioner added.
