It was jubilation galore over the weekend as Engr. Tunde Bello declared his intention to represent Ibarapa North/Central federal constituency seat in the house of representatives.
Popularly known as ETB, Bello is one of the sons of late Alhaji J.K Bello (Karaole), pioneer chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ibarapa local government.
According to ETB, who is also the managing director of Royal legacy Integrated Construction Company, it has come to a time men of good conscience should join politics and fill important public offices in the interest of the people.
Declaring his intention in the presence of thousands of party faithful and supporter in his home town of Igboora, he said is also contesting to complement the efforts of Governor Seyi Makinde in the area of development.
“Apart from lawmaking which is the chief function of a lawmaker, we are going to ensure we lobby relevant government agencies to bring the necessary infrastructure and support to our constituency. I am also going to leverage on my network and contacts to facilitate development to this area.
“I believe my coming out at this moment is to rescue our federal constituency from misrepresentation and backwardness. Our governor has done well since coming to office to get developmental projects to this place. In the history of the entire Ibarapaland, this is the best government that has shown us sympathy by approving development projects to this place. If someone like me is allowed to represent Ibarapa North/Central, you should know what that means.
“I want to urge party members and supporters to support me. I won’t disappoint. I am a stakeholder here. I am grateful for your support thus far,” he added.
Party leaders who spoke afterward expressed satisfaction with his ambition, adding that they would provide necessary support when the time comes.
