Senior advocate and candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, in the 2019 governorship election in Oyo State, Chief Mobolaji Ayorinde ,SAN has said that his administration will have three cabinet members in charge of primary, secondary and tertiary education if he wins.
Ayorinde, while speaking with journalists in Ibadan, decried the development in education sector and promised to emplace a policy that will enhance education sector and others in Oyo State.
Saying that his government will give priority to education and economy of the state if elected as the governor in 2019, he promised to establish infotech hub for technical education training and skill acquisition in ICT.
According to him “A sizeable proportion of our budget shall be applied to our priority areas of education and youth support initiatives. We shall create info tech hubs where start ups and new business ideas will begin to germinate.“
Ayorinde, who is a former chairman of the governing council of the troubled Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, said his government will tackle the crisis rocking the institution through establishment of LAUTECH’s foundation that will oversee the affairs and raise fund for the management of the institution.
While speaking on agriculture and economy, Ayorinde said his government will create a platform for traders and farmers to access interest free loans and make farm input available for farmers at a very low cost so that they can afford it and use apply it in their farm.
“Agricultural production and the chain of distribution of agricultural product will be regulated in such a manner to add value to our farmers and the end consumers.Our agricultural policy will be one that targets elimination of waste aggressively while rural roads will be aggressively re-developed and constructed to facilitate agriculture.”
“I will ensure our traders are better equipped with funds; not the type of tradermoni program of the FG, our traders deserve more that N10,000, I will ensure a recycling loans for the traders.”
The legal lumiary who also unveiled his programmes in other sector said “We shall be asking the electorates to choose between us and the others who have jointly with their sponsors put our people in abject poverty despite enormous resources at their disposal.”
He however cautioned people against buying and selling of votes during election describing it as a retrogressive act which is inimical to the growth of the nation.
