Hastom Group Announces Arrival Of New Human Development City In Oyo

    In a move set to change the landscape of housing in the state, Hastom Group has announced the arrival of a new city designed to accommodate Human development in Oyo State. 

     

    Named Valor city, the new housing community sits on 2,1000 acres of land at the Ogbomosho axis of Oriire Local Government Area of the state.

     

    Speaking with newsmen in Ibadan on Tuesday, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Hastom Group, Debo Olushola, explained that the idea behind Valor city seats on three pillars —  re-imagined education, sports development and tourism. 

     

    He mantained that not everyone has to go you into politics to contribute to the development of the society. 

     

    “One way to solve our political and economic problem is through reimagined education. Using our strength as a nation, with our large number of youths to drive our economy. If youths have the right education, exposure , they can do a whole lot of stuff.

    “I have been dreaming of having a human development city where I can be teaching people how to succeed. A place where people can raise their game and have global mindset. The location of Valor City have the capacity to come alive and accommodate between 80,000 and 100,000 people as residents and visitors,” he said. 

     

    He went further, “Sport is bigger than a lot of industries. We are not going to be having less than 15 football pitches. We are patnering with 15 football clubs, mostly from Europe. 

     

    “We want to give people alternatives. Some people have to pursue a career in sports. In developed countries, all these things are a part of school activities. Growing up at Ogbomosho grammar school, we had various sporting facilities, where are they now?,” he asked rhetorically. 

     

    He also revealed that there’s going to be a movie village in the city noting that the vision is not to compete with any industry but to complement every industry. 

     

    “The masterplan for the city is ready and we have intention of selling some residential part to people that can see the future.” 

     

    On education, the CEO explained that the city would schools that are a break away from the norms because they won’t need accreditation from the NUC. 

     

    “Highest we will do is we will be affiliating ourselves with the best universities in the world for affiliate courses. The rest would be like tech-based , vocational training, so that people can learn handwork in a way that they can compete with the rest of the world,” he said.

     

    The pre-sale of the part allocated for accomodatiosn in the city is scheduled to start next month while the physical development of the centre will commence in January 2022.
