Recall that OYOINSIGHT had earlier reported how the two daughters of the Late Senior Ibadan Chief were kidnapped on Monday while on their farm, a week after the funeral of their dad.

Professor Tunji Olaopa, a former Permanent Secretary in the FederalMinistry of Communication, in a short message made available to journalists on Wednesday night confirmed the release of theduo.

Olaopa in the video to announce their release thanked everyone for their solidarity to the family during the abduction ofPastor (Mrs) Bola Adepoju and her sister, Mrs. Abiola Olukotun.

In his words, “I want to thank everyone on this platform for thesolidarity you showed on the abduction of Mrs. Bola Adepoju her sister as posted by Professor Olaopa. And to inform you that theyhave both been released today. Thank you all.”

However, efforts by newsmen to get more details about their kidnap and release to ascertain whether the ransom of one hundredmillion naira demanded by the kidnappers was paid before their release proved futile.

Also, efforts to get the reaction of the Public Relations Officer of thestate Police Command, Mr. Olugbenga Fadeyi, for details on how the duo were rescued proved abortive as calls made to his telephoneline was not successful. He is also yet to reply to a message sent to him at press time.
