The Governing Council of Oyo State College of Education, Lanlate, has shut down the institution over thes ongoing crisis.
The decision to suspend staff union activities and proscribe the students’ Union was part of the outcome of the Governing Council emergency meeting held on Tuesday.
The council also directed all students to vacate the college with immediate effect, thereby suspending all academic activities.
A memo released by institution read:
“Arising from its emergency meeting of the 10th of November 2020, the Governing Council of the College of Education, Lanlate, hereby directs as follows:
“All academic activities in the college suspended with immediate effect.
“Students Union activities are hereby proscribed.
“Students are to vacate the College with immediate effect and; Staff union activities pending until further notice.”
