Following the announcement that about only ten percent of the candidates that sat for the computer based test, CBT, of the Oyo State Teaching Service Commission, TESCOM, by the chairman of the board, Pastor Akinade Alamu, reactions and counter reactions have continued to trail this development.
OYOINSIGHT.COM understands that there has been apprehension among the candidates as they await the result of the CBT test especially as the commission did not hint on the cut-off mark.
Many of the candidates, this newspaper observed, are grumbling about their scores expressing doubt about the genuity of the result so computed.
Speaking on IMPACT POINT a news and current affairs programme earlier today, a stalwart of the All Progressives Congress, APC,?in Oyo State, Inaolaji Akinloye alleged that the result released by TESCOM is a fraud as it beat the imagination of many of the candidates.
“I doubt the sincerity of TESCOM on this. We are using this medium to appeal to Pastor Akin Alamu to look into the agitations of our people. I know first class candidates who scored 30. Are we saying our people are dullards?
But a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Oladipupo Olalekan, who also featured on the programme dismissed Akinloye’s submissions, saying the result is a true reflection of the performance of the candidates.
“The only appeal we can make is to ask the TESCOM board to reduce the cut-off mark to 40. We cannot repeat the mistake of the past when the last administration employed teachers who cannot spell their names.”
Inaolaji however suggested that the government should absorb those it cannot give teaching appointment into other ventures of the government especially the agric sector saying “they will help the government in the cultivation of the “botswana maize” which the Governor promised but which we are yet to see”.
