An ex-two term member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Kameel Mudasiru Akinlabi, has said that he would recontest the 2019 under the All Progressives Congress, APC.
In a telephone with OYO INSIGHT, Akinlabi, who is currently a special adviser to the deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Lasun Yusuf, said he is already mapping out strategies to achieve his dream.
Akinlabi, who was in the green chamber between 2007 and 2015 under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and later APC, fell out with his godfather, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi in the build up to the last general elections.
The monarch son, Prince Akeem Adeyemi who was then a council chairman, later defeated him at a keenly contested APC primaries and later at the general election where Akinlabi contested under Labour Party, LP.
When asked if it would be an easy task contesting against the incumbent and son of the monarch under the same political party, he told OYO INSIGHT to watch as things unfold.
Akinlabi and the incumbent lawmaker both hail from Atiba local government area of the ancient town.
