The Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Asiwaju Rotimi Ajanaku has commended Muslim faithfuls in Oyo State and the rest of the world for using this year Ramadan Kareem 30 days fasting period to seek God’s intervention to end the attack of the novel Coronavirus pandemic.

“As we felicitate with Muslims all over the world, especially our brothers and sisters in Oyo State for seeing the end of this year Ramadan Kareem, we equally wish to commend them for devoting time and strength to seek God’s intervention on the rampaging novel Coronavirus pandemic.

“I’m quite sure this year Ramadan very timely, it came at the time when the pandemic has already humiliated everyone, both the rich as well as the poor and we’re left with no other option than to call on our creator for intervention. You would also agree with me that prayer and fasting usually draw us closer to God, and I have the conviction Muslims have done greatly well to fight against Covid-19 through prayer and supplication,” Asiwaju stated.

He however charged Muslims not to relent in their contributions to end the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic and advised to also keep observing all the precautionary measures.

“To the glory of God, this year Ramadan has ended but my appeal goes to all Muslims not to relent in their efforts to halt the spread of Covid-19 pandemic in Nigeria and ensure they comply with the directives of the government and NCDC, which includes social distancing, use of face mask, regular hand wash and others,” Ajanaku advised
