Justice P.I. Ajoku of a Federal High Court in Ibadan on Thursday remanded one Bashiru Adepoju accused of trafficking in 237.5kg of marijuana.
Ajoku ordered that Adepoju should be kept in prison until Jan. 18, 2019, when defence counsel, Mr Musibau Olapade, would argue his bail application.
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) charged Adepoju with unlawful possession of and illegal deal on a banned substance.
He, however, pleaded not guilty.
NDLEA counsel, Mr Raphael Himinkaiye, submitted that Adepoju committed the crimes on Dec. 3, at Bodija Market, Ibadan.
According to him, the offences contravene Section 11(b) and (c) of the NDLEA Act, 2004.
