CORONAVIRUS: Oyo Tertiary Institutions’ Workers Commence 7 Days Prayer For Makinde

The Joint Action Committee of Trade Unions in the six state-owned tertiary institutions in Oyo State has directed all her members to commence a seven-day special prayer for the speedy recovery of the state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde.
The committee gave the order in a special release made available to OYOINSIGHT.COM signed by its Chairman, Oyewumi Olusegun on Thursday titled ‘AT A TIME LIKE THIS: THE GOVERNOR AND THE STATE NEED OUR PRAYERS’
The chairman on behalf of the entire workforce in the six state-owned tertiary institutions in Oyo state expressed deep concerns about the news that the number one citizen of the state, Engr. ‘Seyi Makinde has tested positive to coronavirus.
He stressed further that while they are worried about the news of his infection, they are glad that the Governor has lived up to his nature of a “responsive leader by confronting the monster headlong before suffering this slight personal setback.”
“Sir, as a selfless leader that you are, despite your self-isolation the efforts and impacts of your administration on the people remain unabated.
“Our hope of you bouncing out of isolation to normal life soonest is based on our faith in God, who will never forsake the righteous to die like the wicked. Your Excellency Sir, please be assured that our prayers and spirits are with you.” The statement read.

He wrote further that the intervention of God Almighty is needed to heal the land, and, as such, the committee “hereby directs all her members to observe special prayers for the speedy recovery of His Excellency and the State as a whole between the hours of 12 noon and 1 pm and 12 midnight and 1 am every day for the next 7days. Members are to remain conversant with their different unit platforms as unified prayer points will be released daily.”
He also prayed that others who had tested positive to the virus in the State should get well soonest too. Adding that ‘’It is an evil wind that will soon blow away by the Grace of God Almighty’’
He then admonished all citizens of the State to assist the Government in the ongoing battle by
adhering strictly to all instructions given by the Government and its agencies because
these instructions are in the best interest of the populace.
