To support the efforts of the Oyo State government to contain and control the COVID-19 pandemic from spreading in the state, the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta State, Alhaji Dawud Makanjuola Akinola, has donated the sum of N20 million.

OYOINSIGHT.COM learnt that De-Damak, as the Islamic leader is fondly called, made the donation to the state’s COVID-19 containment fund account though his company.

The donation followed the setting up accounts named Oyo State COVID-19 Endowment Fund in three banks.

A recent statement by the government had indicated that the accounts would allow members of the public interested in supporting the efforts of the Oyo State Government to readily make donations.

The state’s commissioner for finance, Mr. Akinola Ojo, had been quoted as giving the nod for the operation of the accounts, which will remain the only avenue by which financial contributions can be made to the state.
