Minority members of the Oyo State House of Assembly under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have wished Governor Seyi Makinde quick recovery after testing positive to coronavirus.
The APC legislators disclosed this in a message signed by the minority leader of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Asimiyu Alarape on Monday night.
“Your Excellency, on behalf of the Minority members of the Oyo State House of Assembly, I wish you very quick and sound recovery. We are confident that you will lead us through this trying period and beyond. The Lord is your strength. Regards. Rt Hon Asimiyu Alarape Minority Leader OYHA” the message read.
OYOINSIGHT.COM had earlier reported how the number one citizen of the State announced that he has tested positive to coronavirus in a tweet on his official Twitter account.
“I just received my COVID-19 confirmation test result. It is positive. I am asymptomatic and will continue to self-isolate.
“I have designated Prof Temitope Alonge, former Chief Medical Director of the University College, Ibadan, as the Head of COVID-19 Task Force while I recover fully. Please continue to comply with all the directives from the COVID-19 Task Force. Stay home, stay safe” the tweet read.
The confirmation that the Governor has tested positive to the virus makes him the third incumbent Governor to have tested positive after the governors of Bauchi and Kaduna states.
At the time of writing this report, the total number of confirmed cases by the NCDC in the country is now 131 with two deaths.
