Engr Muftau Open Salawu has wished the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde quick recovery from coronavirus.
The Ogbomosho-based politician disclosed this in a statement made available to OYOINSIGHT.COM on Tuesday.
“This is not the time for competition but to be responsive. We as progressive have no option than to wish Governor Seyi Makinde quick recovery and the good news is that people are recovering allover the world and Lagos state government has just dischargedsome patient yesterday,” he said.
He then urged the people of the state to come together irrespective of their political affiliation to help other people and support the fight against coronavirus.
According to him, “The more organized society is seriously disturbed not to talk of ours, the virus is real and the rate andvelocity of contraction are scary and I have beginning to have adoubt if it is not airborne although the experts said it mostly through droplets.
“Politics apart, this is the time we all need to come together andhelp our people. Every community should have a food bank throughthe traditional rulers which will be onward distributed to the morevulnerable people in the community”
He also announced that he has donated 100 bags of rice, 100 bags ofsemo and 100 cartons of noodles to various individuals.
However, he noted that the food he donated can’t go round thepeople that need it.
He then called upon other people in the society to join in the donation. He added that “you can imagine what the effects could beif hundreds of us joined resources together, we could have up to10,000 bags of rice in our community.“
