Nurudeen Ashamu, son of former senator Monsurat Sunmonu; Fausat Sanni, sister of Chief justice of Nigeria, Olukayode Ariwoola as well as Toyin Balogun, women coordinator of the Omi Titun 2.0 campaign made the list of 7 commisioner-nominees sent to the Oyo State House of Assembly by ‘Seyi Makinde, governor of Oyo State, OYOINSIGHT.COM can report.
The list, which was sent to the speaker, Adebo Ogundoyin, has Musibau Babatunde, one of the top economists in Nigeria; Akinola Ojo, his former finance commisioner; Daud Sangodoyin, his former works commissioner as well as Adeniyi Adeniyi, his former agriculture commissioner.
This newspaper learnt that the names would be read on the floor tomorrow while their screening and confirmation would follow suit “as the governor is expected to swear them in on his return from his journey from the United States.”
Upon his return, the governor will announce his preferred secretary to the state government position which is likely to be a woman, and send the remaining 10 commissioner-nominees to the assembly.
“Already, the governor has received nominations from some APC leaders in the state who worked for his re-election. He was the one who asked them for it,” said another source who is in the know of happening in the Makinde administration.
