The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s candidate for the forthcoming local government election in Iseyin local government, Hon. Mufutau Abilawon has described the newly elected Chairman PDP South-West zone, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja as a trustworthy and dependable leader in the party.
Abilawon said the former deputy governor has shown in his actions, even before the zonal congress that he could lead the party to victories, come 2023 and beyond.
He maintained that Arapaja deserved the victory and the support of Oyo State governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his unflinching support to the State administration and the party hierarchy.
“I congratulate Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja on his victory, he has been a model worthy of emulating among the leaders of our party and this is reflected in the support he got from our governor and the leadership of the party in Oyo State and beyond.
“With this victory, we are certain that PDP has, once again poised to reclaim the South-West States and other States in Nigeria that are currently being controlled by other parties.
“The former deputy governor is a leader of high repute, trustworthy, capable and dependable, he will work assiduously to move our great party to more victories in the near future.”
Ambassador Arapaja was declared the winner of the keen contest on Monday evening after a long-drawn battle of media exchange between his camp, which had the support of Oyo State governor and the opposing camp that was supported by former governor Ayodele Fayokemi.
Fayose is eventually embraced peace at the venue of the event as he declared that governor Seyi Makinde was the father and leader of PDP in the South-West.
