A governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has revealed how he ignored advise by former governor Adebayo Alao-Akala against buying the party’s governorship nomination form.
Adeduntan and Alao-Akala were governorship aspirants on the platform of the APC in the 2019 elections. While Alao-Akala initially defected to the Action Democratic Party, ADP, Adeduntan remained with the APC.
Speaking on a radio programme monitored in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, monitored by OYOINSIGHT.COM, he disclosed that even before he went ahead to pick the governorship form of the party, Alao-Akala told him that former governor Abiola Ajimobi would not use him as a candidate.
”Ajimobi fooled some of them with a promise that he would support their ambitions and make them the party’s candidate not knowing that he had another plan.
This was just as he explained that what happened during the primary election of APC was not an election but imposition by Ajimobi without recourse to the decision of leaders of the party as well as its members.

He advised Ajimobi to step down as a leader of the party and allow the younger elements to  take over for peace and unity
“We must tell ourselves the truth, truth is bitter, we must be ready to face the reality and resolve crisis in  the party if we truly want to move forward
“The party is in trouble and If APC wants to remain till 2023, we must go back to the grassroots, resolve all issues and allow internal democracy to reign without imposition,” he explained.
