The Agbaakin Parakoyi of Ibadanland, Oloye Adebayo Adelabu, has denied rumour that he was hospitalized following a domestic accident in his home.
The state was thrown into palpable tension, especially on whatsapp groups, when the news filtered.
One of the users had dropped a message: “Bayo Adelabu hospitalised. He slipped in his house and has a break his back” (sic).
But speaking with InsightOyo on the phone, the grandson of the late 3rd Republic politician, Alhaji Adegoke Adelabu, who just tendered his resignation as deputy governor (operations) of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, dismissed the story, saying he was attending the Monetary Policy Committee meeting of the CBN.
He went further: “I would have called to speak with you via video. We just completed the day one of the MPC meeting. It will end tomorrow. I wonder where they saw the story…”
Forty-eight old Adelabu is a governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Oyo State.
