One year after his demise, Alhaji Tirimisiriyu Adeniji Olowoposi who was one of the closest allies of late chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, Alhaji Taofeek Oyerinde, has a prayer session for him.
OYOINSIGHT.COM recalled that Fele, as Oyerinde was fondly called, died August 21, 2018 after a brief illness.
An Ibadan, Oyo State-based cleric, Alhaji Ibraheem Bamidele, who delivered a lecture at the event urged the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in the state to always appoint leaders in the mould of Fele.
Bamidele, popularly known as Baba l’Amunigun, made the plea at the first remembrance prayer orgainsed for the deceased at his residence in Ibadan.
The cleric said the transport union in the state required a leader like Fele for the sustenance of the peaceful conduct of its activities.
“Everybody will taste death one day but the most important thing is: how will people describe you after your demise? Although the Alhaji Oyerinde we are all celebrating today did not live long, he lived a fulfilled life.
“While some people would live long and destroy many souls before they eventually depart, with the little time he spent on earth, Fele impacted so many lives positively, and he relied on God.
“Fele always ensured that everybody around him lived comfortably, including his followers. I saw him as a godsend,” the cleric said.
It was graced by people from all walks of life, especially members of the union in the state.
