A frontline House of Representatives aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo state, Semih Arisekola Alao, has highlighted quality representation that yields visible dividends as one of the major reasons he desires to represent the people of Ibadan Northeast Southeast Federal constituency.
The accomplished entrepreneur and son to foremost Ibadan statesman, Aare Arisekola Alao, made this known while answering questions from a group of journalists in Ibadan, over the weekend.
“My level of exposure has taught me that in governance and democracy, the quality and caliber of whoever represents or speaks for a set of people matters. Quality representation matters a lot, it is the factor that determines the quality of dividends the people enjoy, and also the marker to assess representation at any level in public office”, Mr. Arisekola Alao stated.
When asked why he choose the House of Representatives, Arisekola-Alao described the red chamber as a place where policies are formed to directly impact the people, and he believes that’s a viable place to continue contributing to decisions that benefit his people.
His words, “I chose the House of Representatives because it’s a vital place to start effecting the line of thought I mentioned earlier about setting the example of quality representation. That is where most laws and policies are formed to directly affect the people. It’s a viable place to keep speaking for the people, as I’ve been doing that considering my background and through my Bibiire foundation”.
He continued, “Political Will comes with an advantage to do more. For example, Ibadan Northeast Southeast has one of the highest concentration of active youths in Oyo state, and I can already imagine how more suitable bills can empower and impact their overall engagement, while opening new vistas of opportunities for them”.
The aspirant later gave a hint about an upcoming youth engagement programme organized by the Semih Arisekola-Alao campaign organization in conjunction with his Bibiire foundation for youths in his Ibadan Northeast Southeast Federal constituency.
