Alli, who hails from Ibadan North local government area, declared his intention to succeed his boss, Governor Abiola Ajimobi, who he had worked with for over 5 years.

OYO INSIGHT had exclusively reported how Alli wrote exclusively to top government functionaries in Oyo State to inform them of his decision to run for the governorship seat.

The letters, which were hand delivered and personally, addressed to all political appointees, elected officers party executives and stakeholders in the state including the Governor, encapsulated the relationship Alli has had with each individual in the cabinet in the last 5 years of assuming office.

Last Friday, he was in the four local government areas in Oyo town where hew was received by party leaders led by Chief Akin Ojebode. He later moved to the 5 local government areas in Ogbomoso land .

These were after he had started his consultation from him. At Mapo Hall, Ojaba, Ibadan, Alli had met the party leaders, elders and stakeholders to further discussion on his aspiration.

At different places, the leaders described him not only as humble but qualified to continue from where his boss would stop in 2019.

Saying that his entry into the race has allayed their fears, they advised him to be focused as he has what it takes to take the state to an enviable heights just like Ajimobi has done in the last 7 years.

While thanking them for the warm reception, advice and prayers, he assured them of excellent and people oriented programmes, adding that he would not disappoint them.
