Nigerian Industrialist, Engr. A.K. Ahmadu has congratulated the chairman of the Nigerian Revenue Service (NRS), on his emergence as The Leadership Newspaper public service man of the year.
In a statement on Friday, Ahmadu described the award as a well deserved recognition of the NRS Chair’s efforts to reposition the country’s fiscal reforms.
“Dr. Zacchaeus Adelabu Adedeji, Executive Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) is highly deserving of the award of public service man of the year with which The Leadership newspaper has garlanded him for the year 2025.
“Within months of his accession to office he had made an impact and as time passed, the scale of his achievement became so clear that commentators began to run out of superlatives. The increase in revenue received in 2024 has been described as huge, unprecedented, staggering, even humongous. In the eighty-three years of existence of Nigeria’s revenue service, no tax chief has had this scale of success or made his mark so dramatically. Little wonder, Dr. Adedeji is today the cynosure of public attention, a wonder, a prodigy.
“When he turned 48 earlier this year, in January, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in congratulating him, commended Dr. Zacch Adedeji for his ‘’sterling leadership, ‘‘citing‘’ the introduction of fresh ideas, the adoption of global best practices, the automation of systems and the upskilling of staff members’’ as key factors in ‘’Zacch’s historic achievement. Zacch, whom I have come to know very well, has a large heart, high emotional intelligence, is well- liked and generous in both senses of the word. He is a contented young man, confident, self-assured and is forever clothed with the humility that came with him into the world. He is God fearing, and will not miss his Sunday worship for a billion dollars. He is deeply imbued with fear of God in all matters.
“Today, as he carries all before him-young, charismatic, result-oriented and covered in glory- he can only grow and grow. Kudos, Dr. Zacch,” the statement read.
