Youth Led Islamic Group, PHF, Elects New Leadership

Oyo state Chapter of the Pure Heart Islamic Foundation of Nigeria (PHF) on Monday ushered in a new set of executives at a transition conference that had few people in attendance and was streamed live on Facebook for the multitude of PHF members across Oyo state and nation at large.

The event tagged Pure Heart Annual Accountability/Election (PAAC) featured a presentation of the secretarial and financial reports of stewardship by the outgoing executives who were then dissolved before a new set of executives were announced.

Engr Daud Oladosu the Head of the Computer Engineering Department at the Polytechnic Ibadan delivered a keynote on the event theme, Leadership between achievable goals and sustainable performance. According to him, an organization thrives when goals are set for its bottom line and are aligned with its workers. He advised the leadership of the Foundation to enshrine corporate sustainability performance models while setting standards and means to measure performance.

Mallam Qasim AbdulAzeez emerged as the new state coordinator, while others like Mallam AbdurRahman Shittu, Mallam Qoosim Olaleye, and Mallam Muideen Yusuf were announced as General Secretary, Public Relations Officer, and Treasurer respectively.

Mrs Shakirah Adeyemo was appointed as the Female Lead and Assistant Coordinator III, while Halimah Osunrinde and Muhsinah Ismail emerged Financial secretary and Sisters’ Secretary respectively.
The current Executive Council of PHF Oyo State has a total of 18 members (See full list below) fully ready to, directly and indirectly, serve the interests of the youths of Oyo state, Muslim and non-Muslim alike.

The immediate past coordinator Mallam AbdulGaniyy Dhikrullah who is stepping down after two terms advised that the focus of the new executive council should be to help youths around Oyo state get ready to adapt to the new normal through the introduction of capacity building initiatives around technology and soft skills. He also encouraged them to explore means of sustaining the activities of the foundation in the light of the coronavirus disease.
