The chairman of the Social Democratic Party in Oyo State, Michael Okunlade has blamed Governor Seyi Makinde for the hunger in the state.
Recall that Makinde in a recent statement blamed the Tinubu-led federal government for hunger and hardship across the country.
However, in a statement on Monday, Okunlade noted that Makinde’s administrative style impoverished citizens of the state.
“Seyi Makinde, stop deceiving people with your campaign of slander. You are the main reason for the hunger in Oyo State. Your style of governance has impoverished the people.
“It’s important to note that the federal government does not distribute land; that responsibility falls to the state government. For the past six years, you have withheld local government funds. If these funds had been allocated to the local governments, I believe the local economy would have improved, thereby reducing hunger.
“Additionally, if your administration had released land for cultivation, hunger would have decreased significantly,” he wrote
