Yoruba Creative Legends Award To Hold In October As Lekan Alabi Emerges Selection C’tte Chair

The Yoruba creative legends award will hold on the 22nd of October at the famous Mapo Hall in Ibadan.

This was announced by the founder and Chief Executive Officer of the organizers, Yoruba Creative Legend Awards International, Double Chief Akin Williams during a World Press Conference held at the Palace of the Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, on Wednesday.

The award, which was organized to appreciate and celebrate Yoruba indigenes across the world who have contributed immensely to the development of Yoruba Nation, would be held in all Yoruba states in the country, five states in the United States of America, South Africa, and United Kingdom.

These awards will be presented to legends cut across, music, movies, sports, poetry, education, media, cultural troupe, financial experts and some traditional rulers.

According to the organizers, the first edition of the award will hold in Ibadan because of the important role the city played in the development of the Yoruba nation.

The selection committee for the award, which will be presented to 30 individuals in three categories, will be chaired by the Ekefa Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oloye Lekan Alabi.

Speaking with OYOINSIGHT.COM Reporter, Oloye Lekan Alabi stated that the award will, among other things, ginger the youths because when people get awarded for being active, being innovative, its going to motivate them.

When asked about the level of sustainability of the project, he said, it is not a one-off thing, it is sustainable.
