The Parents-Teachers Association of St. Paul’s Anglican Primary School 1 and 2, Yanbule, has appealed to Governor Seyi Makinde to help speed up construction work on classroom projects going on within the school premises.

Alhaji Jimoh Agboola Olaniyi, chairman of the association, spoke to OYOINSIGHT.COM.

According to him, the abandoned project is being used for criminal activities by suspected hoodlums.

He added that the school is short of classrooms due to demolition of some parts of the school for ongoing road construction work, adding that the yet-to-be roofed classroom building is being as hideout for smoking activities.

OYOINSIGHT.COM however learnt that contractor started work and was about to roof the building when officials of the State Universal Basic Education Board, said the contractor handling the road was supposed to  handle the project.

“The contractor handling the project had started the job. In fact, he should have been done if he hadn’t been told that he wasn’t the one that should execute the project. He has only been paid 30 per cent of the project sum before he was informed. This was after SUBEB officials had invited the contractor and okayed his work last year,” a source added.
