The winning teams in this year’s edition of Peller Unity Cup, will go home with N750,000, N500,000, N250,000 and N100,000 respectively.
Shina Abiola Peller, who represents Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Iwajowa/Kajola federal constituency in the house of representative revealed this yesterday.
According to the All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftain, participants in the season two of Peller Unity Cup should imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship as the tournament was initiated to promote peace, unity and progress in Oke Ogun.
At the press conference which held at the Town Hall, Okeho, headquarters of Kajola local government area, Peller charged people in Oke Ogun to be part of PUC initiative in order to achieve extra ordinary and uncommon things that they will all be proud of.
“This is an initiative that worths associating with by everyone that is desirous of unity, peaceful coexistence and development of talents and the youths in Oke Ogun, Oyo State and Nigeria at large,” Hon. Peller said.
While describing football as a universal language that connects people together irrespective of their barriers; tribal, political and ethnicity, Hon. Peller said PUC came to unite generality of people of Oke Ogun.
He added “the tournament is a unifying tool for the good people of Oke Ogun. It was aimed at bringing my people together as one and at the same time promote peace, youths engagements and development”.
He commended the presence of Nigeria Goalkeeper in the Atlanta’96 tournaments, Joseph Dosu, Femi Opabunmi, Oyo State Football Association and Oke Ogun Coaches Association for being part of the official opening of season two of Peller Unity Cup.
Hon. Peller charged the men of the fourth estate of the realm, the journalists to be part of the initiative.
Hon. Peller assured the players that the overall best among them has a lot of goodies and hope ahead of him as a commitment to assist him grow and becoming a member of the national team.
In his own reaction, Joseph Dosu declared that he was not only invited to the press conference but to come down and observe the games with a mission to identify outstanding talents that could be assisted to build their career in footballing.
In the reaction of Onjo of Okeho, Oba (Dr) Rauf Osuolale, Hon. Shina Peller has been trying his best towards having a peaceful and United Oke Ogun.
The monarch confirmed Hon. Peller has done many things to accelerate development of the four local government areas he is representing in the Federal House of Representatives.
“With this Peller Unity Cup tournament, Hon. Peller has successfully united the people of this zone,” Onjo reiterated.
