Oyo State governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has explained why he stood behind the Seriki Sasa during a visit to his palace.
OYOINSIGHT recalls that Makinde and some Northernern governors last week visited the Seriki following the clash between Hausa and Yoruba residents at Sasa.
In some of the pictures from the meeting, Governor Makinde was sighted standing behind the Seriki while other governors stood beside. This action has, however, generated reactions from some residents of the state who threw jabs at him.
Reacting in a series of tweets, the Governor explained that he stood behind the Seriki to support him.
“They spoke about me standing behind in the picture in Sasa. The Seriki can’t stand properly, so I stood behind to support him when the picture were taken. The complaints about my position by people who don’t even know what happened were unnecessary.
“They complained about me standing up to address the Seriki too. As for me Seyi Makinde, if you know any one I have to prostate to to stop loss of lives let me know know I will do it. I don’t want needless deaths or killing in Oyo State.”
