Governor-elect of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde, has revealed why he rejected move by the vice chancellor of the Ladoke Akintola University, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, Prof. Michael Olufisayo Ologunde, to visit him after his electoral victory.
According to Makinde, who spoke on Lagelu 96.7 FM, he can only attend to the VC if he comes with the three suspended students union leaders of the institution.
OYO INSIGHT had reported how the trio of Abiodun Oluwaseun, Oluniyi Abiodun and Adeyemi Emmanuel were suspended.
Their suspension came few hours after Makinde was allowed into the campus to campaign.
“Somebody close to me said the VC wants to come see me. I told him I can only see him if he comes with the students,” Makinde said in Yoruba.
This is just as he promised to look into previous white papers and recommendations on the institution to make it a pride to the state and the entire people of the state.
He stated that for LAUTECH to be properly settled, all stakeholders including students, lecturers and the leaders of thought as well as community leaders in the Ogbomosho city need to meet to make the school more vibrant.
He assured that LAUTECH fees would be reviewed downward from May 29 this year to make it more bearable and affordable.
