A Lagos-based lawyer, Barr. Olatunbosun Oladele, has sent a note of commiserations to the families of late former governor Abiola Ajimobi and members of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Ajimobi, OYOINSIGHT.COM understands, died in a Lagos hospital on Thursday during an illness.
Olatubosun who was a commissioner under Ajimobi said the late politician died at a time his wealth of experience would have been needed in rebuilding the party.
According to the immediate past lawmaker representing Irepo/Olorunsogo/Oorelope federal constituency, “It is sad that we lost our leader at this moment. But there is nothing we can do. He has done well and even few months after leaving office, people have started appreciating his good deeds as governor, for two record time.
“I think I got to know him in the build up to the 2003 election. I was the Alliance for Democratic, AC, candidate for Irepo/Olorunsogo state constituency while he was the party’s senatorial candidate for Oyo South.
“In 2011, when he eventually got the Action Congress, AD, ticket, I had already become the state youth leader of the party. So, I can say we have come a long way. He was somebody we were all proud of as a candidate and later as governor. I can testify to his taste for good governance.
“I pray God to give the biological and political families the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss,” he added.
