Joseph Tegbe, a governorship hopeful on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Oyo State, has mourned the passage of Oba Saliu Adetunji, Olubadan of Ibadanland, who died earlier today.

With the sudden demise of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Ibadanland, Oyo State and indeed Yoruba land has lost a great Monarch.

In his lifetime, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji demonstrated genuine leadership by contributing to both local and statewide issues objectively. He was humane, cerebral and accomodating.

His reign brought peace and progress to Ibadan and his memories will remain evergreen in the minds of the people.

I condole with Olori, Olubadan in Council, the body of Mogajis, the Oyo state Council of Obas, Oyo State Government and all sons and daughters of Ibadanland in general on the sudden demise of our King.

My heart and prayers are with the Adetunji family at this period. Kabiyesi lived a fulfilled life worthy of emulation. I pray God grants him eternal rest.
