Hon. Ibrahim Sulaiman Akinkunmi, Caretaker Chairman of Atiba local government has disclosed that his administration has prepared fully for the transformation of the council through popular and people-oriented programmes that will improve the welfare of the generality of the populace.
Akinkunmi, according to a statement by the council’s information officer, Mr. Bayou Ogunwale, stated this at the flag-off of distribution is of hybrid seedlings and chemicals to farmers in Atiba local government held at Waro village recently.
According to the Caretaker Chairman, everyone in the council would enjoy the dividend of democracy wherever they reside either in the city or rural communities.
He cited, for instance, the dredging of rivers causing perennial flooding in some areas. He stated that his administration has declared zero tolerance to flooding in Atiba. These rivers include Sakutu, Oyagbe from Okeolola, Olodogbo to Isale Tola in Boroboro area among others.
In the same vein, Hon. Akinkunmi, during the last dry season organised palliative water supply to the people to mitigate the impact of water shortage with the promise of servicing non-functional public boreholes and sinking new ones to provide access to good water supply with a view to avert water related diseases.
Also the Caretaker Chairman of Atiba local government, Hon. Akinkunmi recently embarked on grading of rural roads to facilitate easy transportation of farm products to the market thereby improving the economic status of the people at grassroots.
In his words “Atiba is going to be the toast of others. We will touch everybody irrespective of where our people reside – city or village”, he stressed.
