The deputy governor of Osun State, Mr Benedict Alabi, has restated the unflinching interest of the state in the continued growth of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH).

Alabi stated this on Tuesday when he paid an unscheduled visit to the University’s College of Health Sciences, adding that the government and people of the state look forward to a raised stake that would make it a real equal partner in the arrangement that established the institution.

Alabi who called for efforts towards self-sustenance explained that the economic situation in the country is making it extremely difficult for governments at all levels to continue to provide all that everybody needs.

Earlier in his address, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Michael Olufisayo Ologunde who welcomed the deputy governor and his entourage, told the government functionaries that LAUTECH was up and doing, churning out world-class graduates that are useful in meeting societal needs.

While appealing for improved funding, Ologunde assured the government of Management’s commitment to the realisation of the vision of the founding fathers.
