The Oyo State Police Command on Sunday revealed that the decision to station its men and vehicles at the Agodi GRA residence of the late governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi, was to ensure the safety of lives and the property.
The Command’s spokesperson, SP. Gbenga Fadeyi, in a text message said the order to dispatch its operatives to the property is from the Police Headquarters in Abuja.
He said the presence of security men at the property was to ensure that hoodlums do not unleash mayhem on important dignitaries that would be attending the burial of the late governor.
“Today being the day for the burial of the former governor, Operations order was released from Police headquarters to provide adequate security for dignitaries that will grace the occasion.
“The Police is for protection of lives and properties and will not allow hoodlums to unleash mayhem on important dignitaries,” Fadeyi said.
