A group, Concerned Egbe Oloja of Oyo State has urged Governor Seyi Makinde not to support the imposition of someone who does not have shops in the state as Iyaloja.

A statement issued and signed by the group’s chairman and secretary, Alhaji Morufu Adetilewa and Alhaja Basirat Ayeloja respectively, explained that the new Iyaloja of Oyo State is Alhaja Sarat Aduke Konibaje.

Konibaje, according to the duo, was endorsed by the Oyo State Market Leaders Council, the only body authorized to do so.

They appealed to Makinde not to allow anyone to impose an Iyaloja on them, “especially those who have no business and connection in Oyo State Market association. Those who have no shop in Oyo State should not be imposed on them.

“We are saying this because we don’t want crisis within our association. We all know what is happening within the leadership of Oyo NURTW where those who have no business in  transportation have hijacked the union,” they added.
